The Jazz Arts Messengers are a group of motivated, talented high school students from the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts (jazzarts.org). This ensemble is one of many at the Conservatory, but serves as the ambassador group for the non-profit. All of the student groups are mentored by the region’s top professional jazz musicians, and this particular group is under the direction of pianist and educator Eric Gunnison. These musicians come from different schools from the Denver-Boulder area, and meet weekly to play together, as well as learn theory, composition, and arranging.
